Beacons 18, Anchors 6
After a scoreless first quarter, the Beacons opened the second quarter with a touchdown from Daniel Braun to Declan Bright. The Beacon defense forced the Anchors to punt, led by Gannon Michalski and Kavryn Koran. The Beacons scored just before the half on a Daniel to Mathew Wank touchdown pass to increase the lead to 12-0 at the half. The Anchors proved resilient as their defense forced the Beacons to punt on their first possession of the second half. The Anchors capitalized when Calvin Gray passed to Jaxon Lewis to cut the deficit to 6. The Anchors’ Gabe McKinney, Riley Pruey, and Izayah Vilagi stepped up and shut down the Beacons’ offense in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Beacons responded with a Gannon touchdown pass to Mathew. With the win, the Beacons earned the championship title while the Anchors had a successful season of their own with the runner-up.
Lighthouses 33, Sails 12
The Lighthouses started the scoring with a Brody Smith touchdown to Wilkin Santana. Brody connected with Teagan Joles for the conversion and a 7-0 lead. The Sails bounced back with a touchdown of their own when Cooper Hambor hit Bryson Janke for the score and got within 1 point of their foes. The Sails played great defense in the second quarter, led by Mitch McGuire and Landon Rexrode. In the second half, the Lighthouses offense broke out for several scores. Brody threw two more touchdown passes to Wilkin and another to Teagan. Brody thew another to Alexander Santana. Brayden McCarthy stepped up and played tough defense for the Lighthouses. The Sails never gave up as Cooper found Liam Vale in the endzone for the score in the fourth quarter. Bryson Janke scrambled away from a Lighthouses’ blitz for the two-point conversion.
Grades 4-6
Captains 25, Mariners 6
The Captains stormed out to a big lead early in the first half when Kameron Leftwich returned two interceptions for touchdowns. Kameron converted on the conversion with a pass to Isaac Gray. Eric McCulley threw two more touchdown passes to Kameron for the 25-0 lead at the half. Cale Milliman contributed with great defense as the Captains shut out the Mariners’ league-leading offense in the first half. However, the Mariners awoke in the third quarter when Zackary Haynes found an open Connor Englebrecht in the endzone for the touchdown. Both defenses prevented their opponents from scoring throughout the rest of the game. Tyson Sherwood made several passes defensed for the Mariners while Mitch Bukovac caught several long passes. Samuel Jablonski also caught several short routes and Andrew Butterfield played well defensively. Cole Clair’s snaps to the Mariners’ quarterbacks were consistent and he caught several short passes for gains. The Captains’ energy was contagious and their players’ teamwork proved enough as Brooke Pruey caught several passes for first downs and Chloe Pruey blocked well all game on the edge. The Captains capped off their strong regular season with a championship effort. Nice job Captains players! The Mariners also played a great season.
Admirals 36, Navigators 18
The Navigators scored first with a Liam Greene touchdown pass to Ben Allen for the 6-0 lead. The Admirals’ resolve proved strong when Aiden Coulter found Peyton Wilson in the endzone for the score and a 6-6 tie. The Navigators regained the lead before the half when Liam again threw to Ben for the touchdown and a 12-6 lead. Julia Allen, Vinny Phelps, Vinnie Catri, Matteo Alvarez, and Channing Delgado played strong defense for the Navigators in the first half. The Admirals’ offense awoke in the second half as Aiden threw a score to Bryce Gillispie to tie the game. The Admirals’ defense also proved effective when Ben Fazekas and Peyton Kallay each recorded interceptions for touchdowns. Aiden threw a final score to Kacen Koran to conclude their second-half comeback. Domanick Fletcher also played a strong game on the defensive side. The Navigators made some nice plays as well when Liam passed his third score of the game, this time to Evan Murphy who caught the ball on a deep route and raced into the endzone.
