Lighthouses 20, Anchors 6
The Lighthouses scored first on Isaac Gray's reception from Bryce Gillispie in the opening quarter. However, the Anchor defense held strong in the second quarter with the halftime score at 7-0. The Lighthouses earned a score on Bryce's interception return for a touchdown in the third quarter. The Anchor's first score occurred in the third quarter on Peyton Wilson's touchdown reception from Deonnie Sentz. At the start of the final quarter, the Lighthouses held a 13-6 lead over the Anchors. In the final quarter, the Isaac made another great play on a touchdown reception from his Lighthouse teammate Bryce to end the scoring in this contest. The Anchor defense held tough with help from Peyton, Deonnie, Carter, and Teagan. The Lighthouse defense of Bryce, Isaac, Brayden, Wesley, and Mitch proved enough to seal the victory. Both teams displayed outstanding sportsmanship in this contest from start to finish.
Sails 26, Beacons 6
The Sails earned the first score of the game on a Landon Carroll to Kacen Koran touchdown. The Sails' tandem did not stop there, as Landon and Kacen connected on another score before the half expired for a 13-0 lead. The Beacons made an effort to come back when Katharina Niehaus threw a touchdown pass to Declan Bright in the third quarter to cut the lead to 13-6. However, the Sails' Cooper Hambor threw to Kacen to make the score 20-6. In the fourth quarter, the Sails' Camden Metcalf threw a touchdown pass to Landon to end the scoring in this game. The Beacons' Mathew Wank, Ben Fazekas, Dominic Regal, and Kyle Bates contributed on defense. Both teams displayed outstanding sportsmanship in this contest from start to finish.
Division B: Grades 4-6
Mariners 26, Admirals 20
The Mariners' quick start was initiated by Nick Mechenbier's three touchdowns. Nick threw for two to Aidan Coulter and intercepted one to the house to make an early 20-0 lead over the Admirals. As usual, the Admirals never quit. The Admiral comeback tied the game up at 20-20 on Zackary Haynes's two touchdown passes to Diego Damboleena and another to Ben Allen. The Mariners' Nathan Jarvis intercepted an Admiral pass to set up the game-winning score on a Nick to Aidan touchdown reception. Ben also intercepted a Mariner pass and Cole Clair added his snapping ability and defense to the Admirals' efforts. Cale Milliman and Bram Miles-Sanchez led their defenses to the victory. Both teams displayed outstanding sportsmanship in this contest from start to finish.
Captains 20, Navigators 18
The Navigators scored first on Greg Mechenbier's interception return for a touchdown on a blitz for the 6-0 lead early in the first quarter. However, the Captains refused to quit and stormed out to a 12-6 lead at halftime when Isaac Maldonado passed for scores to Liam Greene and Donovan Fogle. The Navigators tied the game up at 12-12 when Greg passed to Mitch Bukovac. This back and forth game featured multiple lead changes. The Captains retook the lead when Isaac passed to Govani Fogle in the fourth quarter to take the lead for good with Liam Greene's conversion. The Navigator's comeback bid fell just short after Greg connected with Mitch again. Tyson Sherwood played an outstanding defensive game with Peyton Kallay, Andrew Butterfield, and Connor Densmore. Emily Mechenbier added her defensive abilities and several receptions for the Captains. Both teams displayed outstanding sportsmanship in this contest from start to finish.
